Consolidating Pensions

The days of working for the same employer for your whole working life are no more. We are finding it is more common for a person to change employers every few years. If this is you, and you were a member of the company pension scheme with each employer, you should talk to us about consolidating your pensions.

Deferred Pensions

If you have one or more paid-up or deferred pension, you will have a number of options. Aside from leaving it where it is, you may have the choice to bring it to your current employer or to put it into an account in your own name, which is called a “Buy Out Bond”. It is always worth doing an analysis of what is the best option for you.

Pension tracing

Milford Financial Services also offers pension tracing and services. Many people have left pensions with their former employers and have no information on their benefits. We have successfully investigated numerous cases on behalf of our clients’.

Second Opinion Service

With the ongoing changes to tax and investments, policy and legislation, it is vital to ensure that your personal finances are fit for purpose. It is quite often the case that you can benefit from having a second opinion to review these plans.

A cup of coffee and a second opinion

You are welcome to contact us and have a chat with us. We will discuss your financial goals, for today and for the future. We will examine the mechanisms you have in place to achieve these (pension and investment portfolios for example or protection policies and succession planning). If we think your present structure aligns to your financial goals we will happily let you know and increase your peace of mind or………on the other hand, if we think some of your or all of your present structure no longer aligns with your goals, we’ll explain why, in plain English and we can discuss some alternatives to help you with this. Two of the biggest issues here would be charging structures and lack of true diversification.

Either way, the only cost is time.

What Fees Do You Charge?

While we believe it can be advantageous to take payment for our services from the Insurance or Investment Companies with whom we do business, you can also choose us to work for you on a fee-only basis.
